  • Yes! We understand that our members have real lives and commitments. • In our fictional community of CopeLand, we understand that flexibility and adaptability are key to our success. Your power to create change is integral to our collaborative journey. While we will adopt best practices, we acknowledge that adjustments and improvements will be necessary.

During our initial meetings, the board will engage in strategic planning, not only for the revitalization of Main Street but also for defining and refining the board's functionality. If you find a process to be unclear or believe it contradicts our mission, you have the power to propose changes to our governing bylaws. These proposed changes will be thoroughly discussed and voted on by the board members. Your voice matters in shaping the direction and effectiveness of our Main Street Heckonomic Development Board

  • Absolutely! We are still working to finalize these documents, but we’d love your feedback. Take a look here!

  • Bylaws: Bylaws are the internal rules and regulations that govern the operations of our Main Street Heckonomic Development Board. Proposed bylaw changes are discussed and voted on exclusively by the board members. This ensures that the foundational principles and procedures of our board align with our mission and community-building objectives. Your influence in shaping these bylaws is exercised through your participation as a board member.

Propositions: Propositions are specific ideas, initiatives, or changes to our community that relate to our mission and goals. These propositions are proposed by the board during our meetings. However, they don't stop there. Before being adopted, they undergo a more inclusive process. They are posted online for public comment, where CopeLand citizens, including yourself, have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions. Following the public comment period, propositions are put to a vote, allowing the community to decide whether they align with our vision for CopeLand.

This dual process of decision-making ensures that while our board is responsible for the internal workings of our organization (bylaws), the broader community has a say in shaping the future of CopeLand through propositions. Your participation, whether as a board member or a citizen, is valued in driving positive change in our imaginative community.

  • This initiative will begin as a repository of made-up documents, discussions, and record-keeping, but the goal is to dream even bigger. We envision a physical representation of Main Street, two rows of hand-crafted miniature buildings, lovingly created by business owners who share in our imaginative journey.

Initially, we will illustrate this digitally, but our true aspiration is to develop a physical storefront assembly kit. Upon permit approval, we'll send this kit home with the new Main Street owner, allowing them to develop and design their storefront. These miniature storefronts, when brought together, become a tangible representation of our community: a true embodiment of our shared dreams and vision.
